Rushes Childbirth Education and Doula Service - Learning to birth your baby, your way.....
 Meet the Doulas:
My name is Dana Oakes-Sand... Being a Doula is my calling and joy...
I apprentice trained as a doula with my midwife mother and through experience as friends asked me to attend their births. I am also college educated with an Associates and Bachelors degree. Time passed and I noticed that many doulas were coming out of their doula certification programs feeling a little unprepared to practice- I figured there had to be a better way- so I created the Rushes Doula Apprenticeship Program 4 years ago- I have trained two doulas, both of whom work with me! I have attended 100 births and counting, and still am fascinated at this work! I specialize in women with previous life or birth trauma, previous infant/pregnancy loss, VBAC and anxious fathers. I am also a loss and bereavement doula, and can support you through your loss- grief is survivable! When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my five children, husband and in my huge garden! I am also a Fiber Artist and teach crochet technique.

Jessica Brown has been a doula for 4 years. She came to train with me after the birth of her first daughter 5 years ago- when she became fascinated with all things birth! Jessica is amazingly intuitive, kind and gentle- she is very popular with nervous mothers and mothers with PTSD or a history of trauma. She has two beautiful children, and has a special interest in Christian mothers and families, home birth and teen or very young mothers. She loves the color yellow, her husband Ben, spending time with her family and being creative when she gets a spare minute.
